Note:

This article applies to Adobe Connect versions that supports Adobe Connect add-in. Starting Nov 2017, Adobe introduced the new Adobe Connect application for desktop that replaces the old Adobe Connect add-in for Adobe Connect version 9.x and later. If you are on Adobe Connect version 8 or earlier, you can continue to use Adobe Connect add-in.

Mac Microsoft Unable To Install Add-in

The latest version of Adobe Connect Add-in is 11.2.392.0 for both Windows and Mac platforms.

For a high-level view of where Office Add-ins are currently supported, see Office Add-in host and platform availability. To be able to install and run any Office Add-in, you first need to deploy the manifest and webpage files for the UI and code of your add-in to the appropriate server locations.

Adobe Connect Add-in is needed for functionality specific to meeting hosts and presenters on Windows and Mac OS. It is not a forced add-in version and so users can continue with the previous minimum required versions of Add-in (11.2.385.0 for Windows and 11.2.381.0for Mac) for Adobe Connect 9.1. Adobe, however, recommends it for the fixes as listed below.

  1. Error: Unable to sideload the Office Add-in. Error: Sideload is not supported. I'm running direct demo project which Microsoft provided for Outlook-add-in. Also rund npm run dev-server before npm start as i'm running in mac.
  2. Jan 04, 2018  Can you provide the year/model of your Mac and the name of the ISO file that you are using? If you have a 2016 Mac and the W10 ISO is 1709 release (Fall Creators Update), you will have problems. You need to find 1607 (Anniversary Update) from Microsoft. I personally would not trust any other source for the ISO.
  3. Jul 20, 2017  Mac App Store: Click a Button to Install an App. We’re all used to app stores on our phones, but on the desktop they remain an oddity. Still, the Mac App Store is a decent first place to check. Open the store, search for the app you want, and click “Get” then “Download.”.

Since this latest Add-in is unforced, to install it, uninstall any older version and then either manually install it from Downloads & Updates Page or start an action in meeting that requires Add-in, like screen sharing.

Issues resolved with the new release since the last forced version:
