Admin: How do you increase the auto-accept period on Mac client?
If server-side conversation history is turned off in your organization, by default, the Skype for Business on Mac client will auto-accept incoming messages if the message arrives within 5 minutes of the Mac client being active. This helps ensure the sender does not get the following error: “We couldn't send this message.” After 5 minutes of any activity, the Mac client does not auto-accept the messages to ensure mobile endpoints are able to accept incoming messages as necessary. To increase/decrease the time to auto-accept on the Mac client from the default 5 minutes, follow either of these steps:
Create a configuration profile with the appropriate key and value and install it on a managed Mac. Creating and installing configuration profiles is out of the scope of these steps; see Configuration Profile Reference .
The payload type is com.microsoft.SkypeForBusiness.
Key: autoAcceptTimeout Type: Number Value: The timeout value in seconds.
Change value using defaults terminal application:
Open terminal.
Change the key using defaults: 'defaults write com.microsoft.SkypeForBusiness autoAcceptTimeout 360'.

Microsoft today launched a public preview of its Skype for Business app for Mac. To try it out, your company’s IT administrator will need to sign up at SkypePreview.com. The Mac preview will be rolled out gradually, starting with invites sent to IT administrators and expanded to everyone “in the coming weeks.”
Skype for Business arrived for Windows in April 2015 and got a dedicated Windows Phone app in July 2015. The Android and iOS mobile apps debuted in preview in August 2015, with the iOS version launching out of preview in October and the Android version coming out of preview in December 2015.
Skype For Business
Unlike with the mobile apps, Microsoft is planning three previews for OS X, released in the following order:
Microsoft Skype
- Access to Exchange calendars including viewing and joining upcoming meetings, full screen video, desktop sharing, in-meeting chat, and more (available today)
- Instant messaging, presence, and your contacts list (coming early summer)
- Telephony features such as making voice calls (coming late summer)
In other words, the current preview only offers basic functionality. After you sign in, you will see your meetings for today and tomorrow, based on your Outlook calendar, displayed in the Skype for Business client.
The Mac client uses OS X El Capitan APIs “to deliver the richest experience on a modern Mac,” a Microsoft spokesperson told VentureBeat. Mac users can expect “a familiar feel, a modern media stack, and a commitment to enterprise-grade quality.”
But three previews suggests Microsoft expects to make a lot of changes as its goes. You can report bugs and suggestions on by clicking Report an Issue directly in the client or on the Skype feedback website.
Microsoft didn’t give a firm date for when to expect the final release out of preview. That said, the company did say it is currently aiming for a launch in Q3 2016.
